This article is about the artist A.Sorokin.
He is a very interesting iconographer.
He doesnt use gold, and rich rizas, but his icons looks like jewels.
His icons are not made for talking with God and His saints. But
they insite any particular spiritual mood, assist us in meditation.
They are very musical and arty.
They are not destined for temples space. These are home icons.
It's not an accident that the artist turned to painting parsunas.
Parsuna is a portrait made in icon-painting style.
It appeared in XVI-XVIIth centuries in Russia. That was
a first step to arts secularity, sign of temporal painting.
But at present a parsuna is more actual than temporal portrait
for it shows to portraited person his real destination.
I am glad for Sorokin for the opportunity to discuss his
creating on the pages of this site.
